Great Falls Photographer | Skeletons, Spiders, & Pumpkins...oh my!
If you were to ask my kids if we have enough decorations - for any season or holiday - the answer will always be NO. Our house isn’t spooky enough, we don’t have enough lights, we can always fit another blow-up something on our lawn (the kind that only inflates when it is running up our power bill, and otherwise looks like we left a bunch of retired pool floaties all over the lawn), and in general, we are losing the seasonal decoration game. Sigh…
I have a love/hate thing goin’ on with that. Basically, I LOVE how excited they are for everything. They are so fun to watch at every holiday, and I know this won’t last forever so I better soak it up. Also…I can’t compete with the Target seasonal section…so there’s the hate ;-)
I do have some favorite Halloween decorations that I wanted to make sure I capture before my kids grow out of this holiday obsession and then I get lazy…and then it all goes downhill from there and decorations are slow to be displayed and even slower to be put away. So here it is, y’all! Our Halloween House in all its glory (or at least, as much glory as it’s going to see this year).
Tanner and Mia’s favorite decorations are the light-up spider jars and the light up pumpkins (below). I love anything that lights up, so it is a win-win! It’s fun to sit in our living room in the evening, lights low, with the glowing candles and decorations. A glass of tea…okay, wine…and I’m in the holiday spirit!
My table is always the most fun for me to decorate. This year, I got a little help from Mia, who recently had a tiger-themed birthday party. How lucky am I to combine two sets of decorations for the price of one?! I’m going to have to persuade her to have orange and black as part of every future birthday theme from now on. I’m thinking…Basketball birthday (I better get her started on a team soon)….aaaannd…that’s all I got. Dang. One can dream….
