Great Falls Photographer | How to Re-purpose that Beautiful Frame

Do you have a few too many picture frames floating around your house? Are your shelves starting to look like the frame aisle at Michael’s? This post might be made for you! ;)

So, I am pretty type-A about too much clutter at my house (although my school office says otherwise), so I’m not necessarily in that category but here’s my story:

My sister-in-law gave me a gorgeous frame as a gift, and I had it sitting in my office for the last three years. Unfortunately, it took a spill off of my ledge and it didn’t survive the fall. Sad face. The backing was torn off, and it was not about to hold any 5x7 anytime soon. But I couldn’t get rid of it. It was too beautiful and I swore I would glue the backing on again and fix it.

Well…then we moved, and all bets were off. The frame itself made it to the new house, but the backing is no where to be found. Again…I couldn’t throw it away. I had it sitting in my home office closet since last April, and my recent office move (to the basement) made me face that beautiful frame again.

Fortunately, my husband humors my ideas and doesn’t put up too much of a fuss! With a few measurements, a D-ring hanger (totally had to Google the name of that), and a screw….voila! A little beauty and interest where there would have otherwise been none.

So when you have that unique frame, a frame that has a special meaning, or just too many frames - try this idea out! The best decor, in my opinion, are those creative ways of making something with very little appeal extra special!
